RUSSIAN ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

Written materials distributed to the RUSSIAN ADVISORY BOARD within 72 hours of the RUSSIAN ADVISORY BOARD meeting are available for public inspection immediately upon distribution at the West Hollywood PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION at 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, California, during normal business hours.  They will also be available for inspection during the RUSSIAN ADVISORY BOARD meeting at the staff liaison table.

This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Russian Advisory Board about any subject within the jurisdiction of the Russian Advisory Board. Although the Russian Advisory Board values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Three (3) minutes will be assigned for each speaker or five (5) minutes if translation is provided.

 

8.    RUSSIAN ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS’ COMMENTS

This portion of the meeting has been set aside for general comments, announcements, requests, and/or other issues of concern from members of the Russian Advisory Board.

9.A. METRO RAIL UPDATE

Subject: The Russian Advisory Board will receive a presentation on the Northern Extension of the Metro Crenshaw/LAX Line, including ways local residents and businesses can help shape the future of rail service to West Hollywood.

Recommendation:  Receive update and provide comment.

 

9.B. CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD CENSUS 2020 COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE (CCC)

Subject:  The Russian Advisory Board will consider electing one member to serve on the Complete Count Committee (CCC); which will develop strategies to ensure that every resident is counted for the 2020 Census.

Action:  Call for nominations and elect one (1) member to serve on the CCC

 

10. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

10.A. NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2019

            Subject: The board members will continue discussion of the event.

Recommendation:  Receive and ask questions.

 

10.B. CREATION OF THE VIRTUAL ARCHIVE OF THE RUSSIAN SPEAKING COMMUNITY

Subject:  The board members will discuss information received from the subcommittee.

Recommendation:  Receive and provide input.

 

            10. C. CO-SPONSORSHIP OF RUSSIAN CULTURAL EVENTS

Subject:  Board members will discuss events being proposed.

Recommendation:  Receive and provide input.

 

            10. D. UPCOMING CULTURAL PROJECTS AND EVENTS

Subject:  Board members will receive information regarding upcoming events in June.

Recommendation:  Receive and provide input.

The Russian Advisory Board will adjourn to a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday,       August 20, 2019 at 7 p.m. at City Hall – Community Meeting Room, 8300 Santa Monica Blvd.
