RULES OF DECORUM

 

Members of the audience shall not engage in disorderly or boisterous conduct, including the utterance of loud, threatening or abusive language, whistling, stamping of feet or other acts which disturb, disrupt, impede or otherwise render the orderly conduct of the Disabilities Advisory Board meeting infeasible.  A member of the audience repeatedly or continuously engaging in any such conduct shall, at the discretion of the Presiding Officer or a majority of the Disabilities Advisory Board, be subject to ejection from that meeting.

 

Any person wishing to speak in connection with any item of business on the agenda shall first complete a speaker request slip and submit the slip to the Secretary.

 

No person shall address the Disabilities Advisory Board without first being recognized by the Presiding Officer.

 

Each person addressing the Disabilities Advisory Board shall do so in an orderly manner and shall not make repetitious, slanderous or irrelevant remarks, or engage in any other disorderly conduct which disrupts, disturbs or otherwise impedes the orderly conduct of the Board meetings.  Any person who so disrupts the meeting may, at the discretion of the Presiding Officer or a majority of the Board, be subject to ejection from that meeting.

The Disabilities Advisory Board values your comments; however, pursuant to the Brown Act, the Advisory Board cannot take action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Public Comment is three (3) minutes per speaker. This public comment period is to address the Advisory Board on Consent Calendar items, other agenda items (if the member of the public cannot be present at the time the item is considered) or items of general interest within the jurisdiction of the Advisory Board. Another period is also reserved for general comment later in the meeting for those that could not be heard at this time.

 

2.       CONSENT CALENDAR

 

A.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

RECOMMENDATION: Receive and approve minutes of the March 27, 2024, meeting.

 

 

 

 

3.      NEW BUSINESS

 

A.             LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTATION

The Disabilities Advisory Board will receive a presentation from Los Angeles County Fire Department on emergency preparedness for persons living with a disability.

 

RECOMMENDATION: Receive and discuss.

 

B.        WEHO PRIDE 2024 PARADE PARTICIPATION

The Disabilities Advisory Board will call for volunteers for members interested in riding on the WeHo Pride Parade float on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Volunteers will be entered into a random selection drawing, conducted by the City Clerk.

 

RECOMMENDATION: The Disabilities Advisory Board will select up to two participants and two alternates to ride on the WeHo Pride Parade float on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

 

C.        SENIOR HEALTH FAIR

The Disabilities Advisory Board will call for volunteers for members to host a table at the Older Adults Advisory Board’s Senior Health Fair on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

 

RECOMMENDATION: The Disabilities Advisory Board will select up to three volunteers to host a table at the Older Adults Advisory Board’s Senior Health Fair on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

 

 

4.       UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

A.            BOARD MEMBER LIAISON ASSIGNMENTS

The Disabilities Advisory Board will assign liaisons for the City of West Hollywood’s Boards and Commissions.

 

RECOMMENDATION: Assign liaisons to Boards and Commissions.

 

B.            UPDATE FROM DISABILITIES AWARENESS MONTH SUBCOMMITTEE

The Disabilities Advisory Board will receive an update on Disabilities Awareness Month planning from the subcommittee.

 

RECOMMENDATION: Receive and discuss.

 

5.       EXCLUDED CONSENT        

If a Consent Calendar item is excluded for separate discussion, it will be taken up at this time.

 

6.       PUBLIC COMMENT

          This time is set aside for the public to address the Advisory Board on any item of interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board that could not be heard under Item 1 at the beginning of the meeting.
