The Disabilities Advisory Board values your comments; however, pursuant to   the Brown Act, the Advisory Board cannot take action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Public Comment is three (3) minutes per speaker  This public comment period is to address the Advisory Board on Consent Calendar items, other agenda items (if the member of the public cannot be present at the time the item is considered) or items of general interest within the jurisdiction of the Advisory Board.  Another period is also reserved for general comment later in the meeting for those that could not be heard at this time.

 

2.         CONSENT CALENDAR

 

A.        APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1) Receive and approve minutes of December 4, 2019 Study Session

2) Receive and approve minutes of October 23, 2019 Televised Meeting

 

B.        2020 DISABILITIES ADVISORY BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE

            The Disabilities Advisory Board will approve the meeting schedule for the 2020 year, canceling or rescheduling meetings that may conflict with holidays.

                       

RECOMMENDATION: Approve 2020 meeting schedule 

 

3.      NEW BUSINESS

 

A.        APPOINTMENT TO THE CLIMATE ACTION & ADAPTATION PLAN

            (CAAP) WORKING GROUP

 

The Disabilities Advisory Board will receive a presentation about the City Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) working group and appoint members to serve on the working group.

 

RECOMMENDATION: The Disabilities Advisory Board will appoint two Advisory Board Members to respectively serve as a regular and an alternate participant in the CAAP Working Group.

 

B.        DISABILITIES ADVISORY BOARD 2020 WORK PLAN

            The Disabilities Advisory Board will discuss and approve a work plan for the 2020 year. 

 

RECOMMENDATION: Discuss and prioritize agenda and action items to be included in the 2020 Work Plan.

4.         UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

A.        STUDY SESSION ON SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY AND CROSSWALK SAFETY

The Disabilities Advisory Board will discuss the draft recommendations on sidewalk accessibility and crosswalk safety, based on its December 4, 2019 Study Session. The final report will be submitted to the Department of Public Works for consideration.                       

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Receive, discuss, and finalize recommendations

 

B.        DISABILITIES AWARENESS MONTH EVENTS DEBRIEF  

The Disabilities Advisory Board will evaluate the 2019 Disabilities Awareness Month events and will select the 2020 subcommittee.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1)  Receive and discuss

2)  Select Disabilities Awareness Month Ad-hoc Subcommittee
