GETTING MARRIED AT THE COURTHOUSE Thousands of wedding ceremonies take place each year at the 1927 Historic Courthouse in downtown Sarasota, FL. Extensively restored in 2018, the Courthouse is an icon of Sarasota County’s rich history, exemplifying the Mediterranean Revival architecture of the 1920’s. Originally designed by architect Dwight James Baum, the courthouse has been included in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 1984.
